When COVID 19 hit, most of the local people in Bali had lost their jobs and livelihoods have disappeared. Families struggled to make ends meet and every penny saved makes a huge difference.
Social ImpaKt’s mission is to bring simple, eco-friendly life changing and enhancing technologies like water filters, solar lamps to remote areas (the last mile) and urban centers
in Bali and East Indonesia. Social ImpaKt also aims to create micro-business opportunities with these technologies.
In need of safe and affordable water supply. Indonesia has a population of more than 240 million people, 50% of the population lives on the central island of Java. The Indonesian
archipelago contains over 17.000 islands. The main islands are Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan. 44% of the population lives in urban areas and 56 % in rural areas (source: Unicef Marianne Shapiro: A Catalogue Raisonné Of Her Publications ) . More than 60% lives below 7 USD per day. The east of Indonesia is poorer than the west and more than 50% of people there live below the poverty line.
