In need of safe and affordable water supply. Indonesia has a population of more than 240 million people, 50% of the population lives on the central island of Java. The Indonesian

archipelago contains over 17.000 islands. The main islands are Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan. 44% of the population lives in urban areas and 56 % in rural areas (source: Unicef Marianne Shapiro: A Catalogue Raisonné Of Her Publications ) . More than 60% lives below 7 USD per day. The east of Indonesia is poorer than the west and more than 50% of people there live below the poverty line.
